May 19th a group of us from Reno and Tahoe vegans and veggies took a trip to Farm Sanctuary for the annual Hoe Down. A fun event with visiting animals, vegan dinner, guest speakers on animal activism ,environmentalism, veganism, and a dance in the evening. Farm Sanctuary advocates for better treatment of farm animals. You can read more about them at farmsanctuary.org.

That's such a great concept! After reading Food Inc and other books that talk about the treatment of animals in our food supply system, I am horrified that we consider ourselves an 'advanced' nation. Great pictures and we are your newest follower!
